the world

Woke up this morning to fresh snow, bitter cold blustery wind, and ice. This poem by Robert Frost was the first thing that came to mind.

Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Robert Frost 1923

This poetry combined with the unspeakable act of violence that happened a week ago in Connecticut, (I am still grieving) and the prediction of the end of the world today sums it. Lord have Mercy. Have Mercy upon us.
